JJ Abrams has praised Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, the two lead actors in his new drama Undercovers. The producer told IGN that Kodjoe was perfect for the role of spy Steven Bloom.

"The fact is that there were all these requirements to play this role and you had to believe that this guy could be this international spy," he said. "Boris knows five languages, he was a pro tennis player, he's traveled the world, he looks the way he looks, and he's done action and stunts. It was a preposterous resume because he was so perfect for us!"

He also complimented Mbatha-Raw, who plays Steven's wife and fellow spy Samantha.

"Gugu came in and she was this British actress who is just wonderful, and seems capable of anything," he explained. "We did action sequences, and dramatic sequences, and comedic sequences. Everything we did, she brought it, and she was just a joy to work with. And they had instant chemistry, so it was just a matter of letting them do their thing." - DigitalSpy
